Matryona Grigoryevna was born in the yurt Surei of Beryozovsky District in the large family of a fisherman and a hunter. She graduated from the primary school in the village of Polnovat. In 1950, according to the training program for local personnel, she was sent to Tyumen for a baker 's course. She worked for many years in the village of Tugiyany as a baker. For good work, she was repeatedly awarded with valuable gifts. Then she moved to Polnovat village and worked as a technical worker at the school until her retirement. Since childhood, Matryona Grigoryevna has heard songs and fairy tales from older relatives. She was a participant in the «Bear’s Holiday» and took part in rituals.
