Biography
Evdokia Tikhonovna was born in 1933 in the Tugiyany settlement, Beryozovsky District, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug of Tyumen Oblast. In 1941, her father was taken to the front. He did not return. The family brought up 7 children. During the measles epidemic, all the children died. Only Dusya was left aliv. Evdokia Tikhonovna graduated from the 4th grade of the Polnovat school. At the age of 18 she went to work in a collective farm and worked there at various jobs. Evdokia Tikhonovna fished, planted potatoes, cut down the forest. In 1961, she married and moved to the village of Samutnyoly. After the liquidation of unpromising villages, Evdokia Tikhonovna moved to the village of Vanzevat. She was awarded diplomas for good work. Since 1980, Eva Schmidt, a Hungarian researcher of Ob-Ugric folklore, has recorded a lot of folklore and ethnographic material from Evdokia Tikhonovna.
