Kostina (Grishkina) Vera Grigoryevna was born in the village of Tugiyany in Beryozovsky District of Tyumen Oblast in the large family of a fisherman and a hunter. She graduated from the primary school in the village of Polnovat. Vera Grigoryevna got married and moved to live in the village of Vezhakary. After the liquidation of villages and consolidation of the collective farms, she moved with her husband to live in the village of Tugiyany. Vera Grigoryevna took over her performing skills from the older generation.
