Boris Nikitich was born in 1938 in the village of Kushevat in Shuryshkarsky District of Tyumen Oblast. He was left an orphan early and was raised by his grandmother. He studied at the school of the village of Kushevat. By the mid-1950s, he and his family moved to live in the village of Vanzevat. Boris Nikitich worked as a fisherman and a hunter at the collective farm named after Pobeda. From people of the older generation, he adopted knowledge and performing skills. Boris Nikitich performed sacred songs of the ritual complex the "Bear’s Games"; he played a musical instrument – narsyukh.
